I'm the author of the Daniel Sawyer action thriller series - a fast-paced, globe-trotting adventure series that whisks the reader off to the far corners of the earth. Heavily inspired by my own travels, the stories weave together criminal intrigue, the quest for survival and the pitfalls of modern technology into twist-filled escapades
My titles include Getting Away With It and The Deadly Embrace. Book three in the series, The Money Trail, is due in the Autumn of 2026.
I've also written a handful of short stories, introducing the backstories of my main characters. So far this includes Pinned Down (Daniel's story) and The Hacker (Kristi's story). Asi's story, The Viking, is a work in progress, so watch this space.
A retired company director and travel writer, I spent over thirty years working around the globe — in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Italy, the USA, and beyond. Those lived experiences fuel my writing, bringing authenticity and sense of place to my writing. I hope my readers feel as if they're actually there, right beside my characters as the storylines play out.
My passion for storytelling ignited at the age of ten, when a school trip to see Macbeth in a Sheffield suburban theatre sparked something that three decades of corporate life failed to later extinguish.
My favourite books as a child, notably The Iron Man by Ted Hughes and Clive Kind's Stig of the Dump further whetted my desire to write. When I finally stepped away from a fruitful career in telecoms and mobile apps creation, I did what I believe I was always meant to do: I wrote that first novel.
I write for curious, adventurous readers - primarily men aged 18 to 100, though I deliberately craft my stories to appeal far wider. Expect strong, pivotal male and female characters who drive the plot rather than decorate it, and action that spans continents.
When I'm not writing, I love to make music, hiking, suffering the fate of being a Blade, and reading up on military history, particularly the human cost of conflict and how ordinary people rise to extraordinary circumstances during times of war. I also ran the popular travel blog Reluctant Backpacker before hagning up my boots to focus on my novels and the travelling itself. One of the ideas I have waiting to be worked on iis a military adventure set on a post-apocalyptic Isle of Man (a beautiful island where I once lived).
Though a Yorkshire man and Steel City man by birth and at heart, I now live near the Suffolk coast, a pretty, idyllic, rural and peaceful location - the perfect place to write.
