Daniel Sawyer

Daniel Sawyer is a former British soldier who, since returning to civvy street after tours of Afghanistan, has found his niche as a talented analyst. But, despite his somewhat run-of-the-mill career choice, he can't seem to avoid finding himself up to his neck in trouble, often of the murderous kind. Daniel never looks for danger, but it always seems to find him or the people he loves.

Daniel has an acute sense of wrong and right and can't tolerate the big guns taking advantage of the vulnerable. He's the kind of man who has to intervene if someone is throwing their weight around or is making others' lives a misery. He can loko after himself, an 8th Dan black belt in the Krav Maga, an E4 Expert in the formidible self-defence doctrine. No one should mess with him or his friends as will fight back hard - disregarding the odds stacked against him.

His analytial skills have no peers. He can see patterns in what seem to be the vaguest random sequence of numbers, be in company accounts, crypto or stock trading charts or seemingly arbitrary human behaviour. When others are still scratching their heads, Daniel has already sovled the problem and is most likely out there sorting it out - often with perilous consequences.

Yet, at the same time, Daniel's just an ordinary guy. He has the same fears, insecurity and modesty as us all, and makes mistakes - sometimes disasterous oversights. He's the kind of guy who's handsome and suave enough to turn heads, but doesn't know it. Think of Ian Fleming's James Bond, Scott Mariani's Ben Hope or Stephen Leather's Spider Shepherd, but less polished. Daniel is the kind of guy, who, after a night of passionate love making, gets his foot caught in his boxer shorts getting dressed and falls arse over tit back onto the bed.
